I was approached by my former manager to re-join Intel in September 2005 as a Senior Equipment Maintenance Technician, working in Implant Capability. After re-joining, I became deputy Cluster Equipment Co-ordinator. I was involved in the organisation of all equipment maintenance activities. I also liaised with other departments such as Engineering and Operations in successfully optimising the availability of the Implant cluster toolset. Around this time, I had completed my degree in Information Technology and began actively pursuing opportunities in the area of IT. Show less

      • May 2003 - Jun 2005

As a part of the greenfield site start-up of the Wyeth site at Grange Castle, I was one of the initial team to perform equipment installation, start-up, operation, and troubleshooting and also assisted in conducting IQ/OQ/PQ process of equipment for the successful manufacture of the Enbrel product at the Grange Castle facility. I also contributed to training of personnel in procedures and equipment operation. I gained a high level of familiarity with the Delta V Manufacturing Control System (MCS). I was also involved in the analysis of statistical process parameters such as pressures, DO, pH, flow rates etc. to anticipate possible process excursions. In my role, I was responsible for timely completion of safe operations with a very high attention to detail, and for completing daily cGMP operations according to SOPs and batch record instruction in a cGMP clean room environment. This included assisting with the creation and maintenance of up-to-date area SOPs and batch production records. I regularly acted as stand in supervisor of the Cell Culture area and was responsible for planning and co-ordinating daily activities according to the production schedule in that capacity, as well as liasing with other departments such as Engineering Operations. • Jul 1997 - May 2003

Initially, I worked in the Intel Ireland FAB10 clean room production facility as an operator. In early 1998, I was chosen to go on a training assignment to FAB11 in Rio Rancho, New Mexico to learn the P856 semiconductor manufacturing process. On my return to FAB14 I became a process technician on the P856 process. This entailed disposition of production lots, excursion response and line yield monitoring for the Implant cluster on my shift. I was also responsible for the monitoring and analysis of process charts using statistical process control methods to anticipate and identify out of specification events. In 1999, I was promoted to Implant equipment technician, responsible for maintenance, repair and engineering upgrades of Ion Implantation equipment as part of a maintenance team. I completed many training courses (both vendor provided in the U.S. and in-house) and achieved an expert level of competency. I worked closely with the production engineers to execute many improvement projects on the implant equipment and to investigate and troubleshoot the cause of process impacts in order to identify a root cause. In 2003, I was chosen to go on a training assignment to FAB23 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to study the P804 Flash memory manufacturing process for the Ion Implantation equipment cluster. I successfully trained and was certified on the Varian Kestrel implanter, both in operation of the machine and in equipment maintenance and repair. On my return, I applied the experience learned on the Varian Kestrel Implanter in the successful start-up of the P804 process. Show less
