  I design strategies for the multi-institutional development of the new CliMA Earth System Model, and manage a team of scientists and software engineers that integrates physical model components and implements performant validation tools. We base these tools on cutting-edge research and domain expertise of all collaborative units. I also mentor a group of students, with whom I explore data-driven statistical methods for uncertainty quantification of coupled models for academic research, as well as for practical application to extreme weather event prediction.   This fellowship investigated the seasonal variability of planetary stationary waves, storm tracks and extreme weather. I also collaborated with the CliMA team on developing physical model parameterizations, tests and diagnostic tools for atmospheric scientists.
