ResponsibilitiesI worked as a cashier in the front end of the store. I would greet all customers with a smile and answer any questions they had. I handled cash, counted cash drawers, issued receipts, and worked at the customer service desk. AccomplishmentsI brought a smile to the front end if the store. I enjoyed greeting people and taking time to acknowledge their presence. I would say I brought positivity to this company. I wanted all of my customers to be satisfied, even if they entered the store in a negative mood. I never let a customer leave dissatisfied. Skills UsedWhen working with the public, one needs to demonstrate fantastic people skills. I was patient and willing to help everyone with anything in the store, even if I was not completely familiar with the product. I would find the customer the answer or other help. I demonstrated reliability and productivity. I get my job done and done correctly. I wanted all customers entering the store to be satisfied as they left the store.

ResponsibilitiesI performed the duties of a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) under the supervision of another SLP. I would complete speech therapy sessions with multiple children ages 3-18 years. I administered the RWFVS,which is a picture naming/vocabulary test. Additionally, I have administered the Goldman Fristoe. I also evaluated and treated children who had difficulty swallowing food or liquid. I worked in the clinic and also worked in a high school life skills class. We would play games and complete lessons that helped students learn vital life skills that would help them perform daily tasks independently. I have also worked with IEP Writer during midterm evaluations for the high school patients. AccomplishmentsEven though I was only present for a short time, I saw improvement in all of my patients. I could tell that all of my kids had fun during therapy, which helped their speech improve. And fun is a major ingredient for productive therapy. Also, with all of the hands on experience, I learned so much more about being am SLP than I would have in a classroom setting. I found therapy techniques that I prefer to use and techniques that I do not favor. This alone helped to prepare me for being an actual SLP. Skills UsedI demonstrated preparedness and many other crucial skills of an SLP. I was always prepared for sessions. I had all of the therapy tools necessary with me at all times. I was also very personable and welcoming. First time therapy sessions can be scary for kids and their parents. I made them feel welcome and comfortable. Being extremely energetic and friendly is very important for a SLP. I wanted my clients to keep coming back and I wanted them to have fun in the process.

June 2013 to March 2014ResponsibilitiesI was a visiting volunteer for hospice. I had one patient located in Kinsman, Oh. I would go to their home one day a week for about three hours. I mostly interacted with the elderly patients husband. His wife was non-verbal and didn't respond to voices so he often became lonely. I would sit and talk with him for hours. I would also help him do laundry, wash dishes, and clean the floors. I would also often bring him baked goods during our visits. AccomplishmentsMy hospice patient passed away a couple months into my services. So we continued service for the husband a few months afterwards. I know that I had an unexplainably positive impact on this man. I became a friend for him during our short time together. But more importantly, he had a major impact on my life. This experience brought so much joy to me. Knowing that he looked forward to our visits made me so happy. I cannot wait to start my services for hospice again so that I can positively impact others lives in the same way I did this last patient. I accomplished exactly what I was there to accomplish; I was needed as a friend and companion. Skills UsedI demonstrated reliability, responsibility, and passion. This patient relied on me once a week for someone to talk to. He knew he could count on me to be there. I also had to complete paper work during my visit. I was very passionate about this situation. It was the most rewarding experience that I have ever encountered. I love to help people, and hospice allowed me to do just that.

June 2008 to July 2011ResponsibilitiesI met all needs of patients and their visiting family. I assisted the cook in preparation for all meals. I helped prepare nourishments and snacks for daily activities. Cleaning, organization, communication, and team work were all large parts of my responsibilities. AccomplishmentsDuring my time in this nursing center, I was told that I was their best employee. I would come in early, work double shifts, or stay late any time the company needed me. I also had a positive impact on the patients. I was extremely friendly and was constantly complimented on my attitude and passion for the patients. Skills UsedI demonstrated outstanding work ethic. A person needs to be many things to work as a team. I was flexible, positive, energetic, caring and passionate about my job. Also, there were many times I worked shifts alone due to call offs. During this time, I could run the kitchen by myself which was challenging. I completed all tasks perfectly just as I would work any co-worker. The needs of the patients needed to come first and I always kept that in mind.
