Jean-Noel showed great concern and interest in the development of the Asian Business of IXIS CIB well beyond the day to day work for which he nevertheless kept a very strong hands-on approach. Jean-Noel ran the equity cash and derivative books in Tokyo for a number of years. Not only was he an excellent book-runner and trader but he brought personal qualities that were an enormous asset to our office. He is a very hard worker, going out of his way to make sure things are done properly as opposed to just well enough, and he made big personal sacrifices in order to be accomodate the company. Most importantly, he did all that while bringing to the job a refreshing attitude of good humour and engagement with those around him that added significantly to the richness of the office environment.
