    • Speech-Language Pathologist
      • Dec 2010 - Sep 2013

I had the privileged to work with students from Kindergarten through 12th grade with a variety of disorders. Since 2011, my personal goal was to start aligning therapy goals/approaches to the Common Core Standards and begin to close the gap between the speech therapy room and the student's general education. I participated in the multidisciplinary Feeding/Swallowing Team. An ongoing passion is working with students who are English Language Learners (ELL). Although I speak Spanish, my goal was to provide therapy that would transcend ALL languages including Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese, Chuukese, Khmer, and many others. My belief is that the student needs the entire team (student, teachers, parents, specialists, etc.) to make the leap from BICS to CALPS. Show less
