Enrolled in PSSC 309B, Directed Work in the Organic Vegetable Project - Learned about the FDA approved criteria of a production site to earn Organic Certification - Explored the different types of pest management application methods and studied the different effects from these methods - Gained insight of market quality for vegetable production - Assessed each soil characteristic and how each impacts the viability of the soil - Volunteered 30 hours in the Organic Vegetable Project which included: - Assisted in pest mitigation - Attached 30 ft + pipes together to connect the irrigation system from the water source to the organic crops - Seeded in the greenhouse and field, and transplanted various types of vegetables in the ridges of crop rows *Cover photo: I found a bee that was dehydrated and was resting on a near by crate Show less
