I am currently coordinating a project that aims to promote shoe-wearing among female farmers in Rwanda to prevent podoconiosis, a prevalent Neglected Tropical Disease. In this role, I oversee all aspects of the project, including research methodology and study tools development, data analysis, and manuscript writing. In this capacity, I also lead budgeting, M&E, logistics planning, reporting, and stakeholder involvement. My work has resulted in the successful development of a boot prototype that meets participant expectations and is currently being tested for feedback. I am proud to contribute to this important public health initiative and look forward to continued success in my role. Show less

With Partners in Health, I underwent several studies to analyze the impact of using community health workers in improving people’s health. Mobile Health studies were conducted on women that gave birth through C-section; following up on their health after giving birth i.e. wound inspection, sanitation, hygiene and water availability in the ward and at their homes. During my internship at the Ministry of Health, I fulfilled two roles: - Public Health Officer Intern - Program Manager Intern in the Single Project Implementation Unit (SPIU). I worked closely with the program coordinator on the projects below: a) 12+ Program/DFID funded Program - this program contributed to improving the quality of life for women and girls in Rwanda through a health, economic and social asset development approach that targets girls before they reach puberty. b) Rwanda Childhood Stunting Program / CIFF Funded Programme - this program's goal was to reduce the level of stunting in the enrolled population by at least 30% by 2018. Accomplishments: - Organized training and workshops to empower females to have more control over their own positive choices and development - Monitored implementing agencies and ensured efficiency of activities - Assisted in Monitoring and Evaluating of the program - Assisted in the planning of technical management meetings - Reported on budget plans - Reported weekly on staff's completed tasks and provided action plan statuses - Assisted in the evaluation of the performance and effectiveness of community agents in sustaining interventions through the 1000 days that led to reduced levels of stunting together with Implementing Agencies - Assisted implementing agencies in identifying households knowledge, attitude and practices related to a nutritional well-being of pregnant women and children below the age of 2 - Prepared trainings and workshops for implementing agencies such as Imbuto Foundation Show less
