I’m pleased to recommend Leila Dusabe for her research and management skills. I met Mrs. Leila during my leadership of the mobile health (mHealth) project within Partners In Health in Rwanda. She was serving as an Intern on this project where she worked with the project-affiliated community health workers to organize and facilitate them in their daily research activities and data collection in the community. She also helped with data collection, translation of questionnaires, and with conducting interviews with study participants of qualitative studies. She easily adapts herself to multicultural and changing environments, and her commitment to global health and equity can be seen through her volunteerism and her willing to serve in rural and poor communities. She is resourceful, and honed with profound creativity, effective strategies for time and stress management, and relationships development. I am confident that Mrs Leila has all the potentials to succeed in global health and research endeavors and recommend her without reservation for any opportunity for her career growth.

I am currently coordinating a project that aims to promote shoe-wearing among female farmers in Rwanda to prevent podoconiosis, a prevalent Neglected Tropical Disease. In this role, I oversee all aspects of the project, including research methodology and study tools development, data analysis, and manuscript writing. In this capacity, I also lead budgeting, M&E, logistics planning, reporting, and stakeholder involvement. My work has resulted in the successful development of a boot prototype that meets participant expectations and is currently being tested for feedback. I am proud to contribute to this important public health initiative and look forward to continued success in my role. Show less
