I have worked on a report cataloguing project in which I have performed a business analysis to further understand the methods and report processes. My analysis was to understand what reports the company has, when they are scheduled and their validity to provide the finance team with report that could be replicated as part of the data migration. Throughout this I worked closely with other members of the team, asking questions and taking on recommendations whilst also building on Excel skills. I then collated all the data to present a presentation to the team with my findings which included observations surrounding improvements and questions about the data. I feel this experience has provided me with the tools to be able to understand processes quickly, collaborate effectively and have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office packages which would be utilised in this role.I have utilised the Vlookup and pivot table tools in Excel, understood how to work effectively, collaboratively and built relationships within my team. • Feb 2020 - Nov 2020

I was accepted as one of the 180 applicants to the Change100 internship programme that aims to help students and interns disclose their disability or long-term health condition to employers and empower them. I was accepted after attending an assessment centre in February where I scored above average in each area of the assessment centre exercises and interview. I was taken through to the matching stage of the programme where those with the highest scores would be matched to internship employers. Due to Covid-19, Change100 was only able to offer around 40% of internships and extended the matching process from March to August 2020. This allowed me to become a Change100 Learner, where I could develop my professional skills during the matching process and still have a valuable experience if I am not successfully matched. These sessions help to improve upon valuable skills such as time management, communication and problem-solving. It has improved my confidence in disclosing my long-term health condition to employers and helped to identify adjustments and requests I may need in the workplace. It has helped to improve my CV, interview skills as well as understanding how to make the most out of opportunities and setting goals within those opportunities. Additionally, it has introduced me to a peer group of other Change100 learners and interns that share their experiences. The Professional Development Sessions which will run over a 6-month period ending in November 2020. Show less

This position helped to develop my confidence and communication skills through interactions with customers and co-workers. I worked hard to be approachable, adaptable and a valuable member of the team through offering to take on extra shifts and staying past closing hours to help cash up and for seasonal changeovers. I was given extra responsibility with a dedicated isle to maintain and perform stock takes to order products. This gave me experience with independence and developed my confidence in taking on roles with more responsibility. By working at PoundWorld, my experience allowed me to improve relationships with co-workers which have lasted past leaving my role, and it has improved my customer service skills. Show less

      • Sep 2016 - Apr 2017

My time as an Art Technician provided me with experience working within the education sector. It improved my resiliency and initiative through responsibilities such as maintaining a safe working environment for students and staff and preparing resources and materials for upcoming classes to allow for an efficient lesson. Other responsibilities included handling and securing hazardous equipment, such as darkroom chemicals and craft knives, assisting in classes and preparing and organising art displays around the academy as well as fixing and discarding broken equipment. My organisational skills were also improved upon by taking regular accurate stock takes and ordering materials for the art department, in addition to time management when preparing for exam season and academy art shows/events. This prepared me for fast-paced working environments and keeping to deadlines, as most jobs and responsibilities were given on a day-to-day basis. I also experienced working outside of my contracted hours to ensure a job was finished to the best of my ability. I was responsible for student welfare and safety when using specialist equipment and ensuring all students were evacuated during fire drills. I was also provided with training in child protection in education, equality and diversity and FGMA and prevent duty. Show less
