This was achieved with only one week shutdown of manufacturing output, and within the allocated budget. - Established export markets in Malaysia with 12,000 distributors, and Australian, Chinese, and Taiwanese markets which substantially grew the company.       I commenced with Lion Nathan in a finance role and rose to financial controller and company secretary for Production and Distribution for New Zealand Wines and Spirits Ltd and its production subsidiaries. I moved from this role into production manager and quickly became the Operations Director for NZWS, a Lion Nathan subsidiary. ACHIEVEMENTS: - Responsible for 105 staff and the total import, export, manufacture and distribution of all NZWS products throughout New Zealand and Australia. Total turnover of $250m and EBIT of $25m. - Responsible for the complete supply chain including inventory worth $50m (a high proportion of this underbond). Managed purchasing of inventory and personally managed stocktaking and inventory management. - Instigated a comprehensive tender process which reduced distribution and warehousing costs. In the best year these were reduced by 40% including international rates reductions that year in excess of $3m. This came about through increased efficiencies in stock movement deliveries, imports and improved utilization of transport and warehousing resources. - Grew the production volumes through exports (Vodka to Australia and Russia) and took production contracts off competitors. - Selected and installed the MFGPRO manufacturing and accounting system. This was a very comprehensive fully integrated supply chain management ERP system. - Initiated a range of ICT programs throughout the company. This system was eventually adopted for the all of Lion Nathan production units. - Demonstrated expertise in logistics and project management which trimmed considerable cost out of the Lion Nathan supply chain budget. - Introduced competency based training and gained ISO 9002 accreditation, implemented new innovative awards and recognition for superior performance and hard work. - Involved in strategic planning at Lion Nathan in New Zealand and Australia and board level.
