My three week program focused on energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies and took me to Seattle, Washington, D.C., Santa Fe and various parts of Colorado. The IVLP is run by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs under the Fulbright-Hayes Act. Show less

I focus on climate finance, climate change and development issues such as the sustainable development goals, and the post-2015 agenda; and act as a European Parliament liaison officer, coordinating the G10 policy questions for the 2014 commissioner-designate hearings. I am also a researcher on a fossil fuel subsidies reform report which focused on the top 10 GDP member states with an additional view to determine if this would be a viable climate finance flow. I am project organiser for CAN Europe’s EU/China exchange programme, organising all elements for a workshop where several keynote speakers will be speaking, organisinga study tour in Brussels, and a trip to Paris for a conference. I also attended the UNFCCC Bonn 2014 Intersessional, attending plenary sessions on adaptation, equity, and climate finance, and participating in meetings to discuss climate finance, equity, 5 year goal, and adaptation. I edited ECO, the daily newsletter published by CAN International at all COPs, and wrote a piece on climate change and energy. I have participated in platform and strategy meetings on energy, climate finance, post-2015, and the commissioner hearings, and in various workshops. Show less

My Masters Thesis was a Sustainability Assessment on the effectiveness of the EU's Maritime Policy in providing a Sustainable Maritime area. I helped conduct a Sustainability Assessment for the Green Office, to determine how sustainable the waste system of Maastricht University is. In both cases I used qualitative (interviews, workshop, perspectives-analysis) and quantitative methods (Multi-Criteria Analysis, scenario and strategy development, modelling), were used. I wrote two sustainability reports for the International Centre for Integrated assessment of Sustainable development (ICIS) of Maastricht University on the quality of four sustainability courses, and completed a project (see below). I also help to draft a constitution for the Association of Sustainability Sciences And Policy, complying with Dutch and EU law, applying a systemic approach to a complex task. Show less
