Jimerson’s current role at The Collins Companies is the pre-production marketing and product development for the new $35 million Upper Columbia Mill sawmill in Boardman, Oregon, which will be sawing Collins Pacific Albus, a Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified plantation hardwood grown in the Northwest. He also develops and manages the customer base that remanufactures Collins’ wood products into further value-added products. Jimerson also works closely with distributors, architects, designers, developers, builders, academia, government and green building consultants who specify, use and sell FSC certified wood products and other green building materials and practices.Collins has embraced the Natural Step (TNS), in its manufacturing processes. Jimerson actively works to create awareness of TNS to the design and build industry, because the first principle of the Natural Step screams “use wood”, rather than using non-renewable resources.
