Circuit UK Ltd was an IT business comprising a laptop repair facility for Businesses, end-users and trade clients, together with an end of life asset management business which I headed. I was responsible for Sales and operations, developing opportunities with potential service clients and re-marketing refurbished equipment via multiple channels including export and auction. Equipment which was pre-destined as WEEE, or graded as obsolete or faulty was ethically and responsibly recycled. I managed the work schedule, co-ordinated collections and ensured processes were monitored and maintained. I also created all audits and reports and generated certificates of data destruction and environmental disposal. I managed the team, external contractors and reported directly into the directors.

I joined BTR as the remarketing manager, finding markets for refurbished IT equipment from the company's asset management and IT Disposals activity. I built up a database of clients that enabled the resale of IT equipment to become a streamlined, almost automatic function, with clear partnerships in each product discipline; Laptops, PC's Monitors, Comms, AV etc. I became aware of bottlenecks in the operational side of the business and requested additional involvement. I took on the role of operations Manager with a clear brief to streamline the processes, improve the workflow and deliver services more quickly and efficiently. This involved working with the IT systems manager who I had brought into the business, and developing and delivering an integrated software platform that delivered automation and management information across the whole business.

At Tier1 I was originally in sales, as Technical Sales Manager for the UK Maintenance market. I handed over this role when I moved into purchasing and brokerage, where we sourced equipment from around the world and re-marketed it to product specialists in the UK.An opportunity arose for me to become Quality and Process Manager within the operations side of the business. I documented processes, and implemented lean management techniques in line with a company wide delivery of these processes. I was instrumental in introducing positive change and streamlining work activity to improve efficiency. In what has become a regular pattern in my career I took on additional roles with ease. I took responsibility for returns within the business, identifying ways to streamline proceses and improve quality systems and quality assurance. I reduced returns in the business by 25% in the first 3mthsI also managed the goods-In department and audit teams at the same time. We managed to hit SLA Targets in all key areas on a month by month basis throughout my time in the role.I worked closely with the IT development manager to roll-out the Information Management system that was developed to manage every aspect of the business. I had a key roll in its roll-out, both in certain aspects of its design and user interface, but also in the training and user feedback phasesDue to the nature of the business I was also asked to become the government security controller as the site had gained accreditation for government department work. I was required to attend a security controllers course at Thames House London, and facilitate all improvements to site, and ensure that staff vetting was completed and registered. We were working towards ISO 14001 and ISO 9000 at the point I left the organisation.

I joined Care Computers at it's inception. There were four people at the business when it launched from a small single office with a £5000 overdraft, one telephone line and a fax machine. Our market was in providing rapid response IT spares and systems to the UK Maintenance industry. This required building a database of suppliers and co-ordinating logistics to ensure parts arrived on time every time. Through hard work, long hours and determination we became preferred suppliers to the top ten UK Maintenance companies and turned over £2.5M in the first year. The business grew and incorporated Uk Insurance claims management where we acted as a claims management function for IT related claims in domestic and commercial cases. At it's height, Care Computers was turning over £4.7M and had the top seven UK Insurers as clients. My role within the business incorporated Sales, Marketing, Web development, Business process management and technical services.
