In supporting HMNZS TE KAHA, an ANZAC class FFH of the RNZN, Lee Sigley has provided effective project management services with a strong and consistent focus on health and safety. In the initial planning stages, for what has been a significant maintenance period, Lee ensured the requirements of all stakeholders were carefully discussed and understood and worked tirelessly to ensure the project provided the best value within the allocated budget. Issues outside of his sphere of influence were communicated clearly and in a timely fashion, ensuring the management team had the required detail to make informed decisions. Over the 11 week maintenance period, Lee managed his team to complete the delivery of ship maintenance, repair and overhaul activities with services provided by both the Babcock dockyard and multiple subcontractors. The complex nature of the project was further complicated by the requirement to address emergent work and competing resource priorities. Perhaps the most positive aspect of the project was the collaborative nature of the working relationship that was formed between the Ships engineering staff and the Babcock project team. I look forward to working with Lee in the future.

Babcock New Zealand has world-class maritime engineering and support facilities which are used to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul to the Royal New Zealand Navy via the Maritime Engineering Support Team (MEST). This unique partnership, between Babcock (NZ) Ltd and the Royal New Zealand Navy Logistics Command (Maritime), delivers a cost effective, through life management program to Navy. My role has been managing work packages for Royal New Zealand Navy Anzac Class Frigate (HMNZS Te Kaha), Project Protector MRV (HMNZS Canterbury) and commercial vessels. I am responsible for engaging stakeholders, developing & delivering work packages. The role encompassed the understanding of customer requirements, specification development, project execution, financial control, managing a project delivery team, delivering closing reports to the Board, and H&S accountability. I have also been used as an internal consultant to peer review various projects against financial projections, execution methodology, client communication, scope review and scheduling.
