As the Principal of VESL, I provide both technical and business leadership. VESL supports work in these industries: Thin-Film Manufacturing, Chemicals Industry, Bio/Life Sciences, Pharmaceuticals, Defense, and General Manufacturing. I develop modeling and data analytics products for each customer’s needs. As a business leader, I work with customers to identify opportunities that: provide long-lasting value, solve discrete challenges; this typically results in a packaged solution. Our software solutions are designed to serve each customer's needs today and in the future. As the technical leader, I apply six sigma processes to develop software to support optimization, reduce experimental costs, and drive quality. I transform iterative, manual processes by leveraging predictive analytics, simulation, and automation to reduce waste. This results in fewer experimental iterations on physical equipment saving our customers resources in lab, pilot, and production scale equipment. Show less

Development of engineering software and computational methods for improving engineering analysis. Improving Process and Product analysis tools while reducing engineering resources required to perform analysis. Here the workflow includes:->breaking down specific process or product &/or receiving feedback from process engineering->applying engineering background & computational knowledge to access what is feasible and meets the needs of the customer. These product include developing plans, and executing those plans to support new products and new processes specifically for the business. The tasks are project management, algorithm development, software design, software support. Developing new engineering models. Development of Modeling/Software Sustainability Assessments & Support Plans. Researching modeling alternatives and applying new methods to existing models as needed by the business. Show less

As an engineer I developed and supported analysis, and lead projects to reduce waste and support manufacturing. These were primarily associated with the application of principles from chemistry, physics, and mathematics to support the manufacturing process. This included leading projects to develop new data analysis, management, and tracking systems. Both participating as a technical contributor and a team leader to develop innovative ways to streamline engineering analysis, and improve the quality of that analysis. This included application of root cause analysis, change management, and quality management methods. These applications, and methodologies ensured that the improvements fit not only for my group but also supported the business, and improved regulatory compliance. Most of the work was to support tracking, analysis, and optimization/reduction of waste. This Including data robust enough to submit to federal regulatory agencies. The analysis included formulation, chemical processing, and biochemical processing of both products and waste streams. Show less
