Brendan Downes

I worked with Lee at Adobe for 2 years on a client project delivering a multi-solution e-commerce site using Adobe Experience Cloud. Lee worked as the lead front-end developer on the project and was integral in the success of the entire project that spanned multiple Production launches. On many occasions Lee carried the team through difficult sprints and rose to the occasion in delivering on feature development and driving key decisions with the client in respect to the overall front-end strategy. Lee also went over and above his role, which many times taking on board AEM backend development tasks. He is a critical thinker, delivers fast and reliable code and is able to learn new things quickly. Lee is a strong resource. I give him the highest of recommendations and I wish you well in your future Lee!

During the second phase of the Centerparcs project the team expanded and I became a team lead. As well as supporting the delivery of the delivery of the second phase I was directly responsible for two front-end developers and worked with the other team leads to help raise the coding standards across the code base, to help create new development workflows, arrange FE team meetings to discuss code standards and other issues.

The client on this project was Centerparcs UK and was made up of multiple phases. The first phase was a lift and shift of one of their smaller websites www.aquasana.co.uk taking it from their old platform and rebuilding it on the AEM platform. I joined the project near the end so my role during this phase was to finish of the front-end work. This consisted of creating new AEM components for certain areas of the site and fixing bugs in some of the existing components. The second phase of the project was a full rebuild of the main Centerparcs website, www.centerparcs.co.uk in AEM. This includes completely rebuilding the booking engine which is the main source of revenue for the company. I was the sole FE developer at the start of this process so worked with upskilling some of the AEM java developers so they could help drive some of the front-end component work. Show less
