      I was employed by the International casing specialist company FRANKS (Angola branch) as a Computer Analysed Make-up (CAM) Technician. Responsibilities were primarily programming and using CAM units on the drill floor. Secondary responsibilities include operating power tongs, hydraulic slips and maintaining the equipment. I also acquired additional administrative responsibilities from my crew chiefs such as creating and sending daily reports, updating equipment inventory and certificates and attending daily operations meetings. I did a 13 and 4 week rotation which allowed me to rapidly gain a lot of offshore experience. Skills and Responsibilities included; • Program and analyse CAM units on drill floor • Operate and maintain power tongs, Flush Mounted slips and elevators o This included a lot of responsibility as incorrect use of equipment or poor Communication with Driller would result in dropping the production string resulting in loss of millions of dollars in equipment and down time. • Attend daily operations meetings o Inform Company Man of FRANKS operations for the day and discuss restrictions or requirements for rig operations. o Meetings and work would often occur in three different languages, this helped me improve my communication skills • Create and send daily reports o This detailed minutes from the operations meeting and was sent around the world to various heads of departments. • Update equipment inventory, certificates and create manifests for backloads or equipment request for next job o This required the use of word and excel, using features such as filters.
