I was hired as the Screen Print Production Supervisor at PSW where I was in charge of a staff of 20 people. I won't go into specifics, but I will say that I don't feel I was a good match for the company, and chose to end my employment with them in May of 2019. • Production Manager
      • Nov 2017 - May 2018

I was brought on as Production Manager at Sasquatch Screen Printing where my duties included, but were not limited to: managing print shop operations; overseeing the staff; hiring/firing; maintaining the daily press itinerary and work schedule; creating and maintaining current employee records; conducting employee reviews; introducing new practices, procedures, and equipment; maintaining inventory of supplies and tools; consultant to sales and art teams; cross checking all aspects of the production process; as well as stepping in where printing, press, and pre/post press help was needed. Due to financial issues, the company was forced to downsize the staff, and I was laid off. I was told that I was doing a great job, and that my performance was not a factor in this decision. They simply could not afford to keep me on. I was also told that I could be welcomed back when the company gains better footing, but no time frame was given. Show less

    • Senior Press Operator
      • Apr 2011 - Nov 2017

For six and a half years I was Senior Press Operator at Kotis Print Shop, located in Tukwila, WA. During this time I also acted as Press Manager for the period of 9 months, but returned to the press full time when it was decided that my experience was missing there. I was responsible for setting up and running print jobs on 8, 12 and 16 color M&R textile screen printing presses, training new Press Ops, and overall press consultant. With over 14 collective years of screen printing experience (at the time) I was the "go to" person for the print staff, separation artists, and management when it came to on press activities. At KPS we all but exclusively used M&R equipment but I have also operated MHM auto presses in the past. Over the years I have done limited manual printing, but a majority of my experience has been on the auto press. Show less

      • Apr 2009 - Mar 2010

Throughout 2009 and early 2010 I found only sporadic employment with various construction companies as a L.A.D.S. (Lathing Acoustical Drywall Systems) carpenter apprentice with tasks primarily including hanging drywall and steel stud framing as well as job site cleanup. My tenure with each was very brief, and sometimes as short as only a week. Due to the slow workload, I was laid off from each. I worked for Northwest Partitions the longest, yet after sustaining an injury on the job I was restricted to light duty for 2 ½ months. This included OSHA training and tool upkeep. As soon as my doctor released me to return to full duty I was laid off. Lack of available work was their reasoning for this, as was the same with the others. Show less

I was picked up by Barton Malow in September 2008. They are a Detroit, MI-based company who were involved in a joint venture with Milwaukee based contractors, CG Schmidt, for the construction of a new 9 story addition to Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital located in Milwaukee, WI. This was the largest job I had been on up to this point and while it was somewhat intimidating at first I was eager to gain new experience. I was placed on the exterior walls crew where I was introduced to structural steel framing, sheathing, and the insulation thereof. I learned quite a bit on this job, but due to the nation’s suffering economy, they were forced to lay off 80+ workers from an already dwindling workforce mid-January. While I was thanked for my hard work I was let go in this layoff. This was the last employer I worked for in Wisconsin. A month and a half later we relocated to Washington. Show less

The first company I worked for in the Carpentry trade was Opus. They were a nationwide, general contractor and site developer. Most of my experience with them dealt in steel stud framing, drywall, and insulation. Opus always made the effort to broaden my training, and I was fortunate to gain some experience in layout, installing cabinets, hanging doors, door frames and door hardware, as well as some general carpentry. I was laid off from Opus due to a lull in their workload but was told I would be invited back as soon as activity picked up again. Show less

    • Lead Screen Print Press Operator
      • Jun 2003 - Nov 2004

At City Screen Print I was responsible for setting up and running prints on new and older M&R Textile Screen Printing presses. The older presses required a more “hands-on” approach than the more updated machines I had operated previously. An added mechanical ability was required to set up and maintain these presses. Additional tasks included training, product inspection, packing, color matching, film editing, screen repair, clean up, parts washing and repair, screen reclaim, product inventory, heat press transfers, and ink mixing. I was also required to do some manual printing from time to time. I resigned from my position with CSP&E when the opportunity arose to earn a better wage in a different field of work. Show less

      • Sep 2001 - Jun 2003

I returned to Holoubek as a Lead Printer in 2001 as I had previously worked for the company for four years; only attaining the position of Assistant Printer at that time. My main responsibility was setting up and running prints on MHM automatic, ten/twelve color, textile, screen printing presses. I had much more responsibility than I had in the past where, as a Lead Printer, I was in charge of the rest of the team working on my line. Additional duties included training, product inspection, packing, color matching, screen repair, clean up, parts washing, screen reclaim, product inventory and order tracking. I was also required to complete manual printing jobs on occasion. I left my position at Holoubek for a better paying position with a different screen printing company. Show less
