• Recruit, develop, manage, and retain high-quality administrative and leadership staff. o Lead and support a management team of 5 members who manage a team of 33 music fellows. The 33 music fellows work as teaching artists supporting approximately 3300 students in 39 schools and in 65 individual band, orchestra, choir, and general music classes. o Ensure that teaching fellows are adequately diverse in their musician skill sets. This includes in concentration (instrumental, vocal, music industry, etc.) and in genres (classical, jazz, rock, hip-hop, soul, etc.) o Lead efforts to ensure that the diversity of fellows and management team reflect student diversity. • Supervise, support and manage program leadership and staff in all aspects of their work including effective support for fellows in order to maximize student achievement outcomes. • Lead the creation and implementation of a 5-year strategic plan for the expansion of the in-schools programs • Develop and refine strategic goals of all MMI in-school programs with the Executive Director to achieve the mission and vision of the MMI • Oversee the fiscal health of the MMI in-school programs • Assist nonprofit partners who are receiving funding from MMI in order to ensure that they share MMI’s values of diversity and equity as a valuable component of their school programs • Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence of all MMI in-school programs such as program evaluation and management of communications and systems • Establish clear benchmarks and metrics while working with data analysts to oversee the tracking and reporting of qualitative and quantitative data. • Develop and maintain effective and appropriate engagement with diverse stakeholders including the school leadership, in-school programs faculty, staff, students, parents, community members, and other private and public partners. • Serve as the chief spokesperson for the Memphis Music Initiative In-School Programs in the local and national arts community Show less
