The same high standard duties and responsibilities that are expected of a highly qualified Visual Arts Educator in Missouri which includes holding high expectations for all students and sees themselves as a facilitator of student learning. Organizes and uses a variety of teaching techniques, strategies, materials, and technology to maximize the learning of each child, individually and in group settings. Plans, implements, and evaluates instructional art programs that are appropriate for age levels and population of students taught in order to maintain aptitude expectations. Modifies instruction for students not performing appropriately with grade level materials and accommodates students with disabilities. Establishes a professional rapport with students, parents, & staff. Demonstrates a variety of art making techniques using a variety of methods and procedures to pupils at varying levels of development. Maintains order in classroom, and, in conjunction with administrative staff, administers discipline when necessary to achieve proper behavior. Follows District guidelines for discipline procedures. Observes and evaluates pupils’ work to determine progress, make suggestions for improvement that supports individual growth, and confers with student, parent, and counselor to resolve student problems. Keeps records of academic performance, attendance, and social acclimation. Reports on all aspects of student development for school records and parents; conducts parent-teacher conferences on both a regularly scheduled and as-needed basis. Participates in faculty meetings, educational conferences, professional training seminars, and workshops.
