School Psychology Intern
-
Sep 2020 - Jun 2021
As an intern, I shadowed my supervisor on a daily basis. Sleepy Hollow Middle School followed a hybrid model for attending school due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this meant I worked with students who were full-time remote learners, attended in-person learning part-time, or attended in-person learning every day. My responsibilities as an intern involved creating spreadsheets for re-evaluations, 504s, and program reviews; administering cognitive, achievement, and adaptive assessments; writing reports; accompanying the Social Worker in individual and group counseling sessions - sometimes run alone; attending MTSS, DBT, Program Reviews, and Annual Review meetings; and consulting and collaborating with teachers and staff for student and professional development. While at Sleepy Hollow Middle School, I had experience creating lesson plans that targeted executive functioning skills, anxiety, and defining and identifying emotions and feelings. Show less

1:1 aide
-
Nov 2019 - Mar 2020
My time at Children's School at CCC included working in an inclusion class of 14 students with the guidance of two head teachers and teacher aides. While there, I built rapport with students and coworkers to obtain and maintain a trusting, engaged working relationship. As a one-to-one aide I followed Individualized Education Plan (IEP) interventions and goals. I assisted teachers and students in activities such as small group, lunch, play time, and centers. Unfortunately, due to COVID my time at CCC came to an end. Show less

Intern
-
Sep 2017 - Dec 2017
My role as a part-time intern involved shadowing two Career Counselors at Oneonta Job Corp Academy. While shadowing, I observed counseling sessions, input data into CIS, made spreadsheets and ESP panels, and helped review applications. I would interact with students and staff to build rapport. I monitored the Help Center by supervising a safe space for students. Occasionally would visit students during their trade to review progress and behaviors in the program.
