Research Assistant (Quantum Key Distribution)
-
Jan 2017 - May 2017
Worked on a basic version of quantum key distribution using the BB84 protocol. It uses polarized light to create a secure key transfer. We began using an LED, polarizing film, a couple servo motors and a standard fiber optic cable. Later, our team continued to improve the project and presented it at the undergraduate symposium at NAU.

Research Assistant (Physical Unclonable Function)
-
Jan 2017 - May 2017
I also worked on developing a PUF (physical unclonable function). I spent the semester planning and designing an experiment to use the packaging differences in standard 3 axis accelerometers. The small packaging differences were amplified and then changed into a bit string. This bit string can then be used as a PUF challenge, meaning it can be a random value that can only be determined by the device powering these specific accelerometers.
