12/31/2018 Natletha Gorpu Sumo Master of Social Work Candidate ‘19 George Warren Brown School Washington University in St Louis Dear Sir/Madam, It is with great pleasure that I recommend Leah Fulton to be a supporter and advocate of undergraduate students of color. Leah Fulton is a driven, dedicated and knowledgeable person who is a natural at developing inspiring relationships with students to ensure their wellbeing and success – in their personal lives as well as college and professional careers. I met and worked closely with Leah Fulton while serving as a Director of United Cultures of Bethel. At that time, Leah Fulton was an outstanding Dean of Intercultural Students who served as a supporter, resource, advocate and liaison between multicultural student leaders and the University’s leadership. Additionally, Leah Fulton supported me as I planned and executed several events in celebration of African and African American Heritage. Leah Fulton also supported me and all other multicultural student leaders in fostering challenging discussions surrounding race in America with the rest of the student body. As Dean of Intercultural students, she provided just the right amount of structure, yet allowed student leaders many opportunities to grow and utilize their various strengths. Leah Fulton’s dedication and investment in the success of students of color extends well after the end of their undergraduate education. Since graduating from Bethel University in 2015, Leah Fulton has continued to provide me with constant support and motivation throughout my personal life and professional career. Leah Fulton exemplifies strong transformational leadership skills which will be beneficial to the wellbeing and success of students. I sincerely hope that she will be given the opportunity to serve, support and inspire your students. Sincerely, Natletha

Leah was an awesome mentor during my time at Wheaton. She really had a heart for students that has persisted to this day. She went above and beyond and would have means with us and open her home to students. She really helped make my difficult transition To college a lot easier. Even beyond Wheaton, when I discovered I had an interest in working in higher education, Leah set up a day of shadowing for me at her university and let me stay with her family. That was an incredibly insightful visit that gave me first hand experience in several different areas for higher ed. Leah always does more than the job requires. She forms unbreakable bonds with students and provides impeccable care. I can honestly say Leah played a part in helping me shape my world view. Her transparency and genuine heart resonate with students. She is also incredibly intelligent and hard working. Leah is never satisfied with the bare minimum and is always looking for opportunities to grow herself and the people around her. She would be an asset to any university and adding her to your team would be a decision you wish you made sooner.
