I provide behavior therapy to children diagnosed with ASD using ABA techniques. I work with children in their homes and schools. I am responsible for reading and implementing each client's therapy goals and running data. This position requires me to communicate effectively with parents, clients, teachers and school staff and my supervisors. I am also responsible for learning the science of Applied Behavior Analysis Therapy outside of work hours and to complete training and readings assigned by my company. Utilize ABA during therapy hours to teach socially significant skills to children with special needs. My position works primarily with children who have Autism with a focus on Verbal Behavior. I work on goals that focus on language, communication, academics and social skills. Show less

    • Infant Teacher
      • Mar 2013 - Aug 2013

I was the assistant teacher in the infant room. I created and implemented lesson plans each day in accordance with Title 5 childcare regulations. I assisted the lead teacher with paperwork including completing the Desired Results Developmental Profile for each child. I wrote and conducted parent conferences and discussed each child's goals. The position I was in required me to be proficient in Microsoft Word. This position was at a non profit organization and required a fair amount of paperwork in order to ensure the organization would receive adequate funding each quarter. I was responsible for the crisis phone one weekend per month. The crisis phone required me to be on call 24 hours per day for the weekend I was in charge. I was responsible for answering any calls and documenting the calls. I was required to write reports and fax them to our local Child Protective Service agency when necessary. If the calls did not require a report made to Child Protective Services I was responsible for referring the caller to the appropriate person in order to help meet their needs. I was also responsible for the daily care of infants ages birth through 12 months. Daily care included diapering, changing clothes, preparing and feeding the infants bottles, general cleaning and disinfecting that was in compliance with Title 22 regulations and any other daily needs that might arise. This position required me to complete an Ages and Stages Questionnaire. This was a screening tool for developmental disorders and provided the teachers a basis to make a referral if one was needed.
