      Gala de l’Alternative Musicale Indépendante du QuébecQuebec Independent Music AwardsThe Quebec Independent Music Association (AMIQ) was founded by the Gala de l’Alternative Musicale Indépendante du Québec (GAMIQ) and the Montreal International Music Initiative (MIMI).This new association will host an awards show as well as stage promotional events for the Quebec independent music scene. The GAMIQ is now the official awards show for the Quebec alternative music scene and recognizes the achievements of independently produced Quebec artists. The MIMI continues to provide touring and artist development support via grants and showcases. AMIQ Board members include professionals from the GAMIQ, the MIMI, Voir, Bang Bang, Gillett Entertainment Group, Mile End Cultural Centre and the SOPREF.An Event Producer Advisory Committee was created by the AMIQ to enhance the visibility and improve the importance of promotional events in the Quebec music scene, as well as gain attention from music fans and public authorities. The committee will aid in the visibility of the artists at these events, help coordinate artist showcases between events, and will assist artists with grant requests.
