I have known Laura Korotkin for 15+ years and have the pleasure of enjoying with her both a professional relationship and a personal friendship. I have always been impressed by Laura’s professionalism, conscientiousness, and dependability. Laura meets challenges with a thoughtful and determined approach, and finds or creates solutions which earn the support of the people she is working for and with. I have never seen her shy away from a learning opportunity, and she has applied her intelligence to obtaining new skills all along her professional path. Just as important, Laura brings her quick smile and ready sense of humor to her every day interactions, which brightens and lightens any team effort. Laura reported to me directly for five years during the time I served as Detroit Country Day School’s Director of External Affairs. During that time, Laura managed and executed marketing and communication strategies supporting the school’s enrollment, fundraising, and constituent relations objectives. She developed and updated website content and print and digital communications and oversaw two highly successful website redesigns during this period. Laura also planned and executed programs and events with internal and external constituents and managed the details of event promotion, implementation, and budget management. In addition, Laura and I have shared a personal friendship for 15+ years, raising our families and cheering our children on sports field sidelines and in auditorium audiences, and serving on parent committees, together. Over that time, I have seen Laura show the same conscientiousness, dependability, and dedication to her family and friends that she consistently displays in the workplace. If I could have lured Laura to Jamestown, NY, I certainly would have asked her to join my team at the Jackson Center! Laura would be an asset to any organization and she comes with my wholehearted recommendation.
