Layla is such a creative, warm, and kind person! She is dedicated to supporting young people as they discover their artistic talents and develop their unique modes of self-expression. At Fleisher Art Memorial, Layla helped take the Teen Lounge program in new and exciting directions, including helping students become entrepreneurs through projects where their artwork was available for purchase by community members. During the pandemic, Layla had the idea to create art care kits to distribute to young artists for safe at-home art-making, which developed into a city-wide initiative that engaged thousands of students throughout Philadelphia. I learned so much from working with Layla and I look forward to seeing all she accomplishes in the years ahead.
