Layla combines public health researcher, data scientist and community organizer all in one. We produced a two-hour workshop on using the Google Cloud to build an end-to-end disease analysis and prediction pipeline, both of us learning technical GCP components in mere weeks while working long hours at our respective jobs. She would juggle complex coding tasks (spending hours to make clinical data 'sing' with intuitive visualizations!) while also fielding calls with volunteers and venue, and still keep track of every detail like a skilled project manager. I had the pleasure of meeting her father, who passed to her a strong work ethic and a sense of duty for her communities. Any organization would find Layla to be not just an asset but also its capable leader.

It has been very inspiring and gratifying to work alongside Layla while building the tech community in South Florida. Layla is a leader in our community. She is not only innovative but takes the initiative in executing them and making them possible. Her passion for integrating Data Science into actionable solutions and creating innovative ecosystems has played a crucial role in growing and organizing R-Ladies Miami and the Women in Data Science Conference. I am confident that Layla will bring her technical and public speaking expertise to her team, driving them to a new level.

Worked in a team responsible for analyzing methods to increase the overall auction conversion rate. This task was accomplished by developing an innovative seller's insurance program that guarantees the sale of a car and encourages sellers to accept the highest bid price while shifting risk off Manheim and allowing Manheim more control on pricing and turnovers. This program not only only increases conversion rates, it also dramatically increases overall net cash flow for the company. This project and our team was awarded a Finalist ranking at Georgia Tech's Senior Design Capstone Expo Spring 2014. Show less
