Lawrie McKinna may be the mayor but it ain't the first time he's lead from the front. He dragged all of us footballers to a healthier place in the sporting landscape through his playing days as a striker & his coaching days at Northern Spirit & the Mariners. He used to score goals in football at will & the Central Coast community is very lucky to have him on their side. Not a bad bloke for a Scotsman either.

Over a couple of decades it has been a pleasure to be associated with Lawrie. Initially as football opponents, then team mates and onto involvement at senior corporate levels in similar industries. Lawrie is a true gentleman who, within my contact, has consisteantly demonstrated high people & moral values in his dealings. He has substantial football and business knowledge which combined with his people skills "infectiously" promotes enthusiasm and a positive environment.

Newcastle United Jets Football Club known commonly as Newcastle Jets is a professional soccer club based in Newcastle, New South Wales. Formed in 2000 when it joined the National Soccer League (NSL), it was one of three former NSLs that joined the formation of the A-League, Australia’s premier competition. The club has won one A-League championship. In June 2016, I was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Newcastle Jets where I managed all football related matters, successfully ran the club, and worked with the FFA and A-League. Additionally, I represented the club’s owner who was based overseas during my five years as CEO. Show less
