Direct cross-functional team from US and China in developing overall quality vision and strategies in reducing SIR% and product return% while reducing cost. Continuous improvement agent in China by spending majority of time on production lines and quality guru in US. Managed US / China projects and helped new laundry product launch in US within projected timeline and under budget. Launched front load laundry pair in 2011, refreshed top load laundry pair in 2012, led fire retardant dryers in 2013/2014 and compact washer with casters in 2015. Reduced production leadtime of laundry products in China by 30% and increased throughput by 25% in 1.5 years through implementation of continuous improvement techniques including supplier sub-assembly, JIT, waste elimination, work standardization, line balance/layout, and other process improvement skills and tools. Managed all aspects of product reliability laboratories in China and constitute early-defect-detection programs before launch of best-selling laundry models. Identified through testing quality-related issues and resolving them by designing a filter trap, improving on product packaging, tooling/fixture modifications, implementing 5-S and other tools to reduce SIR% from 32% in 2011 to around 8% in 2016. Instigated call center’s call-back program and analyze US service data to identify quality problems and communicate to the appropriate factories and engineers in China.
