    • Assistant Coach Baseball - Varsity Pitching
      • Aug 2011 - Jun 2014

Supervise and instruct male student-athletes on how to play the game of baseball with "Charger" pride. Primary duties and responsibilities are to establish and provide a positive environment wherein young men can learn and mature. The game of baseball is an excellent vehicle to do so. Although baseball is a fair game. There is a great deal of failure. Learning to how to manage and recover from the day's and games failures is essential. Lastly, I instruct, guide and counsel pitchers (Freshman, JV and primarily Varsity) on their individual pitch mechanics, mental and physical preparation and approach. My primary goal is for each pitcher to take ownership of his routine and mechanics. The ultimate objective is repeat-ability. Secondly, each pitcher must endeavor to control the controllables -those things they can- and release the rest. Otherwise, the nature of the game will rob a pitcher of its enjoyment and achievement. With the conclusion of the Summer 2011 wood bat season, the duties of General Manager were handed to me from David Yamane, Dir of Operation, CSULB previously with Long Beach Community College (LBCC). There is much to do: contract a home field, recruit players and coaches, order required equipment and supplies. I am excited to perform these duties; while at the same time a bit stressed that I maintain the high standard and success that David Yamane achieved.
