  Lawrence started as CFO of its biggest China JV, ie. Xizi Otis Elevator and worked on the full integration of the joint venture. He was shortly promoted to be Vice President taking full responsibility over finance & administration and contract management. After that Lawrence was further promoted to be Business Development Director of North Asia Pacific HQ and in charge of all M&A projects, new product development and marketing initiatives within the Region covering Mainland China, Korea, Japan and Vietnam. In 2004 Lawrence was invited to take over the President role of another Otis JV, ie. Express Elevator Company Limited at a crisis mode (a hostile separation with local JV partner). The position was a full P&L responsibility role for a Rmb1 Billion business of 600 employees, 2 legal entities, 1 manufacturing subsidiary and 8 regional offices covering sales, installation and after-sales service. Lawrence was entrusted the major mission to turn around the business, which virtually dropped to a historical low after the partnership split and resolve a handful of commercial, operational, talent as well as public confidence issues. Major Accomplishments - Overcame all the overwhelming challenges with his strong leadership and perseverance, revamped the organization with a series of revolutionary changes and successfully turned around the losing business within 2 years creating it into a US$200 Million size profitable operation - Run the company for 5 years with CAGR > 35% and ROS > 21%. Express Elevator was then rated/known as one of the fastest growing and best managed companies within the Otis Group - Led in negotiation with the local Chinese partner in buying out all shareholding of local partner and successfully transformed the operation into an entity fully owned by the Group - Successfully built Otis culture in the integrated organization, and significantly raised employee morale - employee satisfaction survey rating jumped by 15% in 3 years Show less
