I worked for the European Patients’ Forum from January 2011, first as a Policy Assistant and subsequently as Policy Officer and Policy Adviser as I took on more responsibilities. My work consisted in monitoring health policy developments and other policies that affect patients. I carried out background research, analysed legislation and developed policy positions in collaboration with the EPF membership. I contributed to advocacy for the patients ‘perspective on various policy topics through liaising with EU institutions and other stakeholders, writing in our newsletter, and preparing/participating in conferences. My main areas of work included: • Equity of access to healthcare • Equal treatment and policies to tackle discrimination encountered by patients in healthcare, education, and employment • Medical devices • The revision of the Data Protection legislation Show less

In this internship, I drafted EFA's monthly newsletter. I contributed to the organisation of a workshop entitled "integrating health and environment policy towards better health" and led the advocacy on the EU food labelling legislation to call for appropriate labelling and information on allergens. I wrote a report on patient involvement in health policy as a result of this internship. In this internship, I drafted EFA's monthly newsletter.
