Performs ongoing audits of physician and advance care provider documentation in the EHR to assure that submitted ICD-10 codes are fully supported by the documentation. Works with Coding and Compliance team and other management to report and support process improvement to ensure quality code accuracy. Abstract ICD-10 codes supported by provider documentation and abstract these codes from hospital and outpatient specialist providers. Ability to analyze abstracted codes against documentation to determine if highest level of coding specificity has been completed. Actively involved in all functions related to primary care provider documentation and coding to track and report findings of chart audits and opportunities to improve documentation and coding back to medical director, HCC team and providers.
