Working with Lauren over the past 5 years has been a joy. She is passionate, insightful, honest and brings so much more to any role than what you may have specifically asked for. Lauren is a big picture thinker and has inspired many ideas which would not have come to fruition without her input. Not only that, she has a fantastic, positive energy, is lovely to be around and absolutely brings out the best in her team and any project she is involved with.

    • Community & Engagement Coordinator

Tractor was a specialist graphic and digital design school with a mission to produce the most industry sought after graduates. To do this, we connected with studios and individuals who knew what it took to make it in the design industry and sought to disrupt the traditional education system. We wanted students to feel as though day one at Tractor, was the first day of their career. We treated them as professionals and gave them opportunities to connect with experts and get involved with industry events. While they learnt the fundamentals throughout the course, the real experience came from the opportunities offered through Tractor. The role of Community and Engagement Coordinator was created for me to develop an environment that reaches across multiple networks — both on-campus and online. Through newsletters, online groups and forums, alumni events, industry guest lectures, workshops and networking events, students and staff are exposed to resources and relationships that help them to find their strengths and their people. This role included managing student pathways by; connecting with design industries, assisting students in employment, managing internships, and job opportunities and developing an outcomes campaign at the end of each course. I was also responsible for building Tractor partnerships and working with the marketing and PR team to produce content, involving and relating to student and alumni journeys and achievements.

Working in a team I helped to write the curriculum and produce course material for the Advanced Diploma of Graphic Design. I was also the second year teacher for design subjects for 20 students. My role also involved creative direction and project management for the end of year graduate exhibition held at Allpress Studio in Collingwood. The exhibition was Tractor's biggest event for the year with over 200 guests in attendance.

    • Discipline Coordinator | Design
      • May 2015 - Dec 2015

Working alongside the Head of Academic Studies, and the Program Coordinator, I developed the Graphic Design Diploma and Advanced Diploma course structure and content for On Campus and Online courses. I worked with industry professionals, from the Tractor Industry Advisory Group, to develop briefs and learning materials that would help to produce the most sought after, industry ready graduates. Where possible, projects were developed in collaboration with established organisations, with briefs being presented by real clients. Design outcomes were often chosen to be produced and developed future through mutual student and client collaboration. In this role, I was also responsible for ensuring that courses ran to schedule, monitoring and managing trainer and student performance, maintaining the Tractor online learning management system, as well as overseeing results and records.I also, working alongside the students, directed and produced Tractor's bi-annual graduate shows, which attracted industry presence and saw many employees approach students with opportunities for work.

    • Industry Mentor Program Facilitator (Digital Design)
      • Apr 2015 - Jul 2015

Tractor Industry Mentor Programs are fast paced, intensive courses aimed at giving students the edge they need to rapidly influence their career trajectory. Throughout the program, students work on a variety of industry relevant projects including a major project, which is delivered to a panel. The industry teachers are amongst the most experienced, talented and successful figures in the design industry and briefs given are often very similar to those in which they have tackled in their own studios. In this role I was the primary contact for industry relationships within the digital design course in Melbourne, which involved liaising with mentors before and after sessions, and assisting the teachers to deliver course content.I was also responsible for ensuring teachers in Melbourne were prepared and informed for their session and assisting the Industry Program Manager in updating curriculum and generally improving the quality of the programs. I met with new and existing mentors, studios, and designers to develop and maintain relationships, organising and managing the exhibitions, workshops and other events.
