BRIDGES Program Co-Director
-
Sep 2012 - Jun 2013
Building Roots of Inclusion with Diverse Groups for Educational Success [BRIDGES] BRIDGES is an innovative, family-centered and community based program that focuses on working with the whole family network to address factors which increase the risk for truancy. This program focuses on creating a safe, affirming space and place where the child and family can develop skills and strategies for strengthening the child’s academic progress while at the same time, strengthening the family network where needed so everyone achieves personal and academic goals. As one of the Program Directors of the BRIDGES program, I worked to develop the program framework and guidelines, and currently work one-on-one with pilot program groups. I have developed the curriculum for for both the middle school and elementary school programs, and implement these in weekly sessions. I also developed the framework for Grove Street's upcoming International Knowledge Transmission. I established contacts with social workers in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Kenya, India, Romania, and the United States, and coordinated the logistics for the webinar event.
