Curijo embraces a two-way learning philosophy, acknowledging the importance and value of both Indigenous knowledge and Western-ways of thinking. As a Senior Consultant I work predominantly as a project manager, ensuring projects are managed within timeframes and budgets. My other key tasks include client and stakeholder engagement, cultural oversight, data collection, collation and analysis, report writing and quality assurance.

As a consultant I worked on numerous Reconciliation Action Plans, conducting interviews and analysis for the development of frameworks, strategies and reports, the raising of the minimum age of criminal responsibility in the ACT, developing cultural capability programs, grant writing, audits, strategic planning, evaluations, and project management, and am on my personal cultural journey supported by an amazing team. • Bar Supervisor
      • Mar 2019 - Sep 2020

Prior to the pandemic, I worked in the role of bar supervisor on the busy Friday and Saturday nights and lead a small team. The role altered due to the smaller capacity and staff during COVID-19, so I often ran the whole B Lucky venue alone while the managers and other staff were working in the Holey Moley side of the venue. • Volunteer Content Creator and Website Developer
      • Oct 2018 - Nov 2018

While travelling in Guatemala, I spent a month volunteering for this cooperative. We helped empower Mayan women through their weaving, by ensuring they were receiving a fair wage for their hard work. My role was as a website design/developer and content creator for the cooperative’s website, which required thorough research to create content on Mayan traditions, the history of Guatemala, weaving and dyeing processes and the work of the cooperative. During this time I undertook Spanish lessons so I could communicate effectively with the incredible directors. I often led small tour groups of international Spanish students and various tourists around the shop, educating them on everything I had researched, from Guatemala’s civil war to the various Mayan symbology. Working as a tutor required brilliant communication skills between myself and both the student and parents. I had to establish a safe space for learning and facilitate teamwork to work with each students’ learning style. Weekly preparation was vital to ensuring the student was gaining the most from a session. Working as a tutor required brilliant communication skills between myself and both the student and parents. I utilised my sales skills to encourage philanthropic and financial support for the Learning and Development Scholarships. It was essential to adhere to the legislation surrounding fundraising approaches. I contributed towards the team effort and provided support and advice to team members who were struggling to reach their targets. Show less
