      I was fortunate enough to be chosen to be part of the selective Merrimack College Teacher Education Fellowship Program for my graduate studies. For this program, I was placed at the Huckleberry Hill Elementary School, in Lynnfield, MA for the 2020-2021 school year. I worked full time in the Learning Center where I taught students with moderate disabilities in grades 1-4. This incredible learning experience has provided me with daily opportunities to teach reading, writing and math and become familiar with the many challenging social emotional needs of my students. I have also supported my students by modifying work and providing accommodations according to their IEP’s to ensure they are accessing the general education curriculum. I have learned the administrative end of special education with opportunities to read and write IEP’s, administer testing and attend IEP meetings. My time at Huckleberry has also allowed me to collaborate with general educators and special educators on a daily basis which further enhanced my experience. Show less
