I have had the pleasure of working with Lauren Graden for the past twelve months on a project for a sophisticated client midstream company that has an intricate and complex EDMS (Engineering Document Management System), which the contracting engineers and designers have great difficulty understanding. Right from the first meeting with Lauren, there were several things that immediately stood out: her high intelligence, her unshakable positive attitude, and her immediate grasp of the impacts the system was having on the engineering team. Within a matter of a couple of days, Lauren streamlined the interface between the client’s EDMS and her role as the conduit into navigating it. She explained and shaped something that was very confusing into something that was easy to follow and understand. She then went on to establish several excellent systems within the company that she was directly working for, greatly enhancing the coherence in their own internal work flows. Lauren also became a Bluebeam expert in about one day, having never before used the program. In my forty years in engineering, in roles across the spectrum including Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical / Systems / Piping Discipline Lead and Project Manager, although I have worked with good people in Document Control, I am of the opinion that Lauren Graden is the best Document Control Manager that I have ever worked with. She is pleasant, professional, smart and perceptive, with unparalleled positivity and work ethic. She is truly a Subject Matter Expert. If you have the opportunity to take Lauren’s courses and instruction, I strongly encourage you to do so. You will be learning from the very best. Jack Jorgensen, P.Eng.
