This was a great opportunity to meet trainees, associates and a partner. I was also able to network with likeminded people who are also in my position. It was extremely insightful into the application process and the culture of the firm itself. I really enjoyed hearing about how they take steps to reach their environment targets. Overall it was very enjoyable and a great help. This was a great opportunity to meet trainees, associates and a partner. I was also able to network with likeminded people who are also in my position. During my vacation week with Legal Cheek i had the opportunity to learn and also network. On day 1 - After the welcome speech there was a talk about “Deals” by representatives from Bird&Bird, Gibson Dunn, Ropes and Gray and Shoosmiths. Then a discussion about “Disputes” with Blackstone chambers, Clyde & Co, Denton’s and Macfarlanes. During this I also had the opportunity to discuss a case study. Then to end the day there was a network session with trainees at various firms. Day 2 - This started with a talk about “Energy” from a partner at Norton Rose Fulbright. I then went on to attend a discussion about “Real Estate” by associates at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner. Then ended the day with “IPOs and listed law firms” by a partner at Gately, which also had a case study exercise. Day 3 - Began with “Banking and Finance” by Weil Gotshal & Manges. Followed by “Employability” by The University of Law. Day 4 - “Retail and Leisure” with Howard Kennedy. “Legal Tech” with Womble Bond Dickinson. “Commercial Law” with Osborne Clarke. Day 5 - “ESG” with Charles Russell Speechly. “Computer Games” with Wiggin. Then to finish off the week there was farewell networking with future trainees. Show less

This was a great experience for me to learn a lot about a variety of different Law firms. There was over 80 major firms in attendance. It enabled me to ask questions and receive crucial advise from trainees that had once been in my position. I was also able to take part in some very insightful workshops such as “Firm Research and Applications” by the University of Law, “The Real Contract” by Clifford Chance and “Commercial Awareness in the Application Process” by Hogan Lovells. An amazing opportunity to experience the day-to-day running of legal services. I was able to sit in on mediations, read through old cases and attend court. I was also fortunate enough to attend one of their social events, where I was able to network. An amazing opportunity to experience the day-to-day running of legal services.
