      • Learnt how to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary design team and the importance of effective communication. • Supported the development of packs as they progressed through the development process. • Coordinated the recruitment process for the next set of students, as well as leading their initial training period.• Projects included mechanism design, prototyping and testing, generation of CAD data and technical drawings. • Learnt how to adapt to different ways of working – individually, small teams, workshop environment, technical design, problem solving.• Time and project management. All work had to be delivered on time to allow other functions within the company to continue with the project. During the placement I often had to manage more than one project at once, making it important to stay organised and to deliver the work on time. This experience enabled me to greatly improve my time management skills.

My main responsibilities in this post were to design a range of fruit bowls, snack dishes and various other items to be used in high end hotels. When designing the products I had to take into consideration the manufacturing methods and materials that were available for use by the company.
