Throughout my practicum experience, there were three main projects I worked on. The three main projects were as follows: decibel (dB) readings, lockout tagout (LOTO), and an ergonomic risk assessment. During the dB readings project, I utilized a Sound Level Meter to collect dB readings and complete noise sampling at two facilities, which in turn allowed me to compile a Sound Level Meter Report. Throughout the LOTO project, I developed equipment-specific LOTO procedures and inputted them into a system called "MasterLock eLOTO". Lastly, during the ergonomic risk assessment project, I worked with two professionals to identify and assess the ergonomic risk of the proposed layout for one production line, then proceeded to create an ergonomic risk assessment and strategic mitigation plan. As a bonus, during my time at PGT Innovations, I had the opportunity to volunteer at the PGT Innovations Child Care Center (Rod & Elaine Hershberger Child Care Center) as well as Blind Pass Beach and Park with other interns. To better address these concerns, I researched and collected data from campus Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plan and Stormwater Management plan (SWMP). SPCC and SWMP deals with proper oil storage, spill management and water pollution prevention. I also worked with Asbestos programs to address environmental and occupational health concerns. • Involved campus stakeholders in planning of virtual trainings (usually done in-person) to tailor it to their job duties. These annual trainings focus on SPCC, SWMP and asbestos management. • Adapted the current annual SPCC, SWMP and asbestos trainings to accommodate an on-line platform. • Collected feedback and evaluated the areas for improvement for the virtual SPCC, SWMP and asbestos training. Surveyed the attendees for effectiveness of the virtual trainings in environmental compliance and occupational health areas. • Utilized the resources provided by UT Dallas such as workspace, electronic devices etc. to effectively conduct my job duties. Developed and improved the relationship with campus stakeholders through emails, survey, training, and outreach activities to promote environmental health and compliance. • Developed educational materials such as brochures and pamphlets to promote environmental health and compliance.
