In May of 2016, I was chosen to serve an organization that is extremely close to my heart as a full time employee. As Assistant Day Camp Director at Barefoot, I cover a plethora of jobs during the summer and during our off season. During the summer months of camp, I am the right hand man to our director. This encompasses everything from running the Barefoot offices at camp (making sure all paperwork is correct and updated) to pouring into campers and summer counselors and staff. I direct all office staff, who keep up the back end of camp. During the off season, I assist with camper and staff recruitment, camp programming/planning, and retreats being held on our Kentucky over night facility. Show less

During the summer of 2015, I served Barefoot Republic Camp as a counselor for their day camp program, as well as the head photography instructor for the photography instructor. I also experienced a taste of the responsibilities of the Marketing Inter, capturing a week of camp in photographs and blog posts. During the Spring of 2015, I worked with the ALIVE Center as their design and social media intern. The ALIVE Center is a non-profit organization located on Western Kentucky University's campus that works to connect student to the community through acts of service and volunteering. My semester with the ALIVE Center entailed many responsibilities such as promotional material design, event photography, and maintaining social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. During the Spring of 2015, I worked with the ALIVE Center as their design and social media intern. During my two and a half years at Clubhouse Child Care Center, I began as an Instructional Assistant and was quickly promoted to the leader of the Kindergarten-2nd Grade age group. I was responsible for everything from the creation of lesson plans to field trip design. My main job, however, was making each day magical for the kids in my class. This is extremely important, especially when a majority of my children were spending everyday of their summer, winter, fall, and spring breaks with me.
