    • Certified Athletic Trainer
      • Jul 2016 - Jun 2021

I am the full-time certified athletic trainer for Victor Valley High School. I manage injury and condition evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation, documentation, hydration and nutrition, and emergency preparedness and response for over 500 athletes across 15 men's and women's sports. I utilize manual therapy techniques like Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM). I have and am currently working with post-surgical patients in their rehabilitative therapy plans through their return to competition. I manage all concussion evaluations and Return to Play/Learn protocols as stated by the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF). I also oversee ROP/CTE medical field students for externship hours; learning about and experiencing the profession of athletic training first hand under my mentoring. Under my position here, I take pride in promoting the athletic training profession by educating the public, my coaches, and my student athletes of the importance of certified athletic trainers. In March 2017, I earned an honorable mention for my efforts in the National Athletic Training Association (NATA) PR contest for the National Athletic Training Month in the category of "Individual/Small group of Athletic Trainer" and was recognized at the annual national conference. I also currently serve on the Far West Athletic Trainers' Association Public Relations Committee. Show less

In my time at Power Physical Therapy, I attended to the patients as a physical therapy aide. My responsibilities included implementing modalities like electrical stimulation and ultrasound, guiding patients in therapeutic exercise, completing paperwork, calling insurance companies, and keeping the facility sanitized and organized. I most enjoyed the connections I made with the patients and the individuals I was able to see get better during my time there.
