I work on the IRP's Aging in America team working under a SCAN Foundation grant to report on Americans' quest for aging independence. I'm currently reporting on intergenerational adventure partnerships for Outside Magazine and also on the increasingly disparate rates of uterine cancer among older women, especially women of color. California Editor: American Alpine Journal
-
Aug 2021 - Jun 2022
As the American Alpine Journal's California regional editor, I compiled and commissioned stories from leading climbers around the state in order to document the year's most important ascents. The AAJ, published annually since 1929, is widely considered the world's most comprehensive source of information on the state of climbing. In my role, I selected, edited, fact-checked, and reported each entry, occasionally writing important reports as well.

Regional Editor: Accidents in North American Climbing
-
Feb 2020 - Jun 2022
As the California regional editor of Accidents in North American Climbing, I compiled reports from across the state about climbing accidents and worked with patients, rescue teams, and community members to write detailed accounts of each incident. ANAC has been published every year since 1948 and is an important contribution to the climbing community.
