Retail Assistant

Jun 2021 - Jul 2021
In my role as retail assistant I was mainly working on the shop floor. Each day I had a different department on the shop floor to maintain and manage to the best of my abilities. On a regular basis I would always provide 110% good quality customer service to the customers whom I spoke to and interacted with. I made sure to be their on hand whenever they had a question or needed any help. My main task was to put out stock, make sure all the clothes are sized properly on the suitable clothes hanger and put them out in size order. I also maintained the display shelves for the department that I was working on that day so customers could see the new stock we had or any merchandise that was limited time only. I would also supervise the changing rooms to ensure all safety procedures was met and everyone had a good shopping experience. At the end of the day I would also check my department for any clothes on the floor, clothes on the wrong stand etc and make sure that everything was in the right place, hung up properly or folded with the best care to ensure a good sales day for the next day.

Feb 2020 - Feb 2020
In my role as a customer assistant I had many tasks to do on a daily basis. I had 2 main departments that I kept on top off and made sure was up to the shops quality standard, no two days was ever the same so I'm very used to multi tasking in a fast paced working environment.I was on the DIY and Homewares department so I was dealing with the shop's stock on a daily basis. I would walk around the aisles to see if any stock had to be put out or if there was extra to be put back into the stock room. I would then go to the back to see what new deliveries came in and communicate with my colleagues to ensure all stock was prepared and ready to be put on shop floor. While being on shop floor I engaged and interacted with many customers regarding different matters that they had, I would always use clear communication and my listening skills so I could help the customer to my true potential.

While I was at the Shahnaz I had many various roles and duties to fulfull. My main role was the reception role and at times I would have to multitask in a busy environment. My job consisted of using my communication skills as I would be dealing with customers on a daily basis, either on the phone or in person. I was also in charge of the till so I gained new skills of cash handling as I would deal with cash and card payments from customers on the daily basis.I was responsible for writing the labels on the food cartons so the chef knew what the customer had ordered, this required accuracy and good time management as often the restaurant was very busy most of the time. I would also help package all of the food orders in preparation to be sent out for delivery. I would also help prepare the various salads and side orders that come with the meals into plastic tubs ready for refrigeration, i was very mindful of company health and safety regulations at all times.

Teaching Assistant / Work Experience
-
Nov 2014 - Nov 2014
While I was still in school, I was chosen for the Celtic Manor Evergreen Day Nursery as part of my work experience which only lasted for 1 week and with many duties to fulfil. There was 5 different rooms which was filled with many various ages of children that I had to work with ranging all the way from new-born up to 7year old so I was always hands on from the start. My duties varied depending on the age range of children I was with. Throughout the week I would spend a full day in each room, always learning something new and interacting in many different ways with the children, When I was with the new-borns, our job was to make sure the room was very quiet and peaceful for when the babies fell asleep. It was my responsibility to be there for the babies whenever they needed anything, such as being rocked to sleep, to entertaining them in a way that was suitable for them. With the older children my role consisted of preparing food and snacks which also complied with the health and safety food guidelines, engaging in playtime activities which would also vary depending on the weather for that day such as going out in the garden or if it was raining then we would play dress up and many more fun activities. I would also be sat with the children helping them read a book etc to help increase their skills and learning and always engaging in class activities. I built a rapport with many of the children as I interacted with them on a one to one basis. During my time there I built many relationships with the nursery workers, parents and children which I quickly gained their trust.
