I am currently working full time to provide outpatient therapeutic services to individuals and families in need, as well as providing group therapy for multiple client’s in need of anger management therapeutic services. This position allows me to utilize CBT, MI, and DBT strategies to client’s with a variety of diagnoses, as well as provide trauma informed and SUD informed treatment. I provide assessments and offer preliminary diagnoses for a wide variety of adults and children in need, while also evaluating progress and developing goals and objectives for treatment through implementation and creation of recovery plans, CANS, ANSA’s, and monthly probation reports. I actively participate in supervision with an LCSW, and participate in regular staffing and clinical staff meetings. I provide both in-person and virtual services as needed to meet the individual needs of each client, and I recently passed the licensing exam in December 2020, to receive my LSW. Show less

I was placed at Erin's House for Grieving Children for my final field practicum experience. I was at Erin's House full time for one semester. I focused attention on the school programming that Erin's House offers. I facilitated peer-to-peer support groups for children, teens, and young adults within the school setting, who have experienced the death of a person. I also facilitated evening groups at the Erin's House location each week. I attended board meetings, and looking at funding sources, and Grant proposals, to better understand the culture and inner-workings of a non-for-profit. I had the opportunity to complete a number of different projects during my time; from collecting and implementing mindfulness strategies into the groups, to connecting with, and updating resources that might be helpful for families that we serve. I completed tip sheets to be used as family resources on the website. I participated in field supervision weekly. I navigated the changes that came with the interruption of COVID-19. I organized and completed my final research project, and presented the findings in my final case presentation, also noting my recommendations for the agency services. I completed my time at Erin's house in a productive and positive manner. Show less

Since graduating from college in April, I have picked up a job as a Recovery Specialist at Park Center in June, and plan to continue working as well as eventually pursuing higher education. I currently am still building my case load, but have around 55 clients on my case load at any given time. I work with adults who struggle with symptoms of chronic mental illness. Primarily I teach and encourage a wide range of skills with my clients, as well as help promote positive connections with community resources in order to foster independence, and encourage this population to be the best version of themselves. I do enjoy the population I work with, and have a goal of one day moving into more of a therapeutic role. Show less

I am currently investing 420 hours into a hospice care agency. I observe home visits with many different disciplines. I contribute to case notes and make phone calls regarding patient needs. I am able to build professional relationships with both the staff and patients I meet. I sit in on team meetings and IDG meetings. I am also able to research hospice related material to further develop my understanding of policy and the dying process. Already I have learned that I have a love for those on hospice and there is a need for further education on the death and dying process. Show less

I invested 120 hours of time with Grant Blackford. I observed case managers. I went on home visits, and helped clients perform certain tasks. I worked with others to develop the TAY program, looked over case notes, and a grant writing. I also became CPI certified during my time there, and improved on being assertive and understanding how to better manage my time. I invested 120 hours of time with Grant Blackford.
