The Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB) are an independent membership body who drive safety and sustainability improvements in the British rail system. I led on the development and promotion of the RSSB Rail Carbon Tool which measured embodied carbon across UK rail projects and was mandated by Network Rail. I conducted research into traction decarbonisation options and the quantitative measurement of social impacts from rail.
