  Here at SIMED for the past 6 years, I worked as a Senior AR Financial Counselor. I handled tasks such as insurance and patient aging reports to manage days in AR to be as low as possible. Daily correspondences the Insurances sent in (EOB's) where they may need a simple system transaction or an appeal made up to fight the denial. Daily correspondences the Insurances sent in (EOB's) where they may need a simple system transaction or an appeal made up to fight the denial. Daily claims involving Auto, Worker's Comp and Health Insurances. Refunds were made up for patients and the insurance carriers when possible. Organization maintained so when appeals or claims needed followed up they could be resulted in a timely manner. Special projects or tasks given to me by the Director or Supervisor were accepted with open arms and completed quickly. I have also dealt with attorney, bankruptcy, collection accounts, and DME for supply claims/requests/notices. I am a team player who also works well independently. I have excellent customer service skills, office mechanics, and very tech savvy. I've worked closely with the clinic I handled assisting them with any needs so that our patients were taken care of. Benefits discussed, account balances and making payment arrangements were among the top discussions. Since February of 2014 I took on the coding and posting aspect in AR. With training and classes I was able to code E/M and mulch-specialty surgeries. Neurosurgery, Urology, Hand, GYN, Orthopedic, Pain and IP & OP hospital E/M as well as basic office and consult E/M procedures were coded and later posted. Show less
