This job entails a great eye for detail as I have to prepare interview questions for the agents to ask so I get the best outcome and have everything I need to make a decision on the claim before typing up the report to send to the client. I also managed reception and undertook an administrator role when needed this Included general admin work such as adding details to the system, setting up new claims, typing up reports, taking incoming calls to update clients, ordering stationary, monitoring the claims inbox and responding to clients via email. Previous to getting promoted to my above role I was a recovery claims handler, this involves handling our customers non fault claims, with the aim of establishing liability with the at fault party’s insurance company and recovering all the costs surrounding the repairs to our insured’s vehicle. As part of this role I also take incoming calls from customers, third party’s and suppliers, I have to ensure that I am professional and deal with the phone call in a prompt and thorough manner and take any necessary follow up actions from this phone call. On a weekly basis I manage the workload I am given by my team leader as our team have recently taken on handling uninsured driver claims, so these are more technical and involved claims so we support each other in ensuring targets are met and the claims are handled appropriately, I have also used a variety of different computer systems in this role and adapted to them quickly.
