My previous job working at MJ Quinn as an admin/planner, in this role attention to detail is crucial. Our project is working on behalf of BT removing telephone kiosks all over the UK, there is a lot of communication required in this role, for example, speaking to different councils and highway agencies about notices and permits or access issues then going onto speaking to engineers sending them out to do the work once all has been granted. On a normal day to day basis everyday is not the same, one day I could be making up job packs from start to finish, starting from scratch contacting relevant people, using the online POTSI site and SWNS to draw up a map to find the kiosk, doing a pack for the engineers to find the kiosk, take pictures, open a notice/permit and once the job has been done close that notice. Whereas the next day I could be working on private land trying to contact private owners and the next day I could be working from the Scotland’s site Symology. As well as my different jobs I also do the usual admin duties, scanning over documents, sending post, faxing etc. I have just started invoicing using sage and M J Quinn’s own programs to invoice for different types of jobs. I have recently also started working on the Vodafone contract, my duties working with this contract include working with Symology and working with different councils all over the UK, this contract is a little different to the BT contract I am also working on, as this contract requires me working with Traffic management plans, road closures, bus stop relocation's and lane closures. This job takes a lot of time and attention to detail to make sure that everything is safe and good to go ahead.

I worked at Marks and Spencer as an admin member, this job included many things on a daily basis I firstly have to fill and make sure that all tills are ready for trade, dealing with the stores taking banking it up ready to be sent to the bank, paying out expenses to staff and controlling the petty cash to ensure that the petty balances each week, making consumable/stationary orders each week whilst keeping in with the stores weekly budget to keep costs down, dealing with invoices and businesses that M&S work with. All my work is computer based so my computer skills are now excellent working from the computer everyday, working with all MS packages, spreadsheets, M&S applications and emails .This job can become very intense at times where tasks have to be done in a specific length of time, this job shows that I am very trustworthy and can work well under pressure. In my time in this role I have worked very close with human resources, where I was relied on to hold interviews, marking people on interviews, calling the candidates to tell them whether they have been successful of now, contacting payroll to ensure the new employees would be getting paid in time. I am also responsible for swipe cards, ordering name badges, ordering staff discount cards and helping employees order their uniforms.
